Important Information About Importing To Singapore.

  • IMPORT REGULATIONSThe vehicle should not be older than 3 years from the registration year. The vehicle must be right hand drive. For more import regulations, check import policy.
  • NECESSARY DOCUMENTS • Bill of Lading (BL)
    • Pro forma invoice
    • Export certificate
    • Freight and Insurance Papers
    • Bills related to other incidental charges (if applicable)
    • Documents related to exhaust emission test, windscreen test etc.
    • Car Manufacturing date confirmation letter from the manufacturer
    • Vehicle Registration Certificate
  • TRANSPORTATION Your vehicle will be shipped to Port of Singapore. The shipment takes approximately 3-4 weeks.
  • Road inspection testInspection is not needed for importing a vehicle in Singapore. Ask your custom agent for more information.
Singapore Port
  • The used vehicle has to comply with the Euro II emission standard.
  • The car must use unleaded petrol.
  • The car’s air-conditioner must be CFC-free.
  • The car must pass a mechanical inspection by the LTA.
  • All safety glass fitted must have not less than 70 percent light transmittance and must not contain any metallic oxide coating.
  • Light Transmittance value should be equal or more than 25% for rear side window glasses and rear windscreen.
  • General Sales Tax of 7% (CIF and Excise Duty) is imposed on all vehicles.
  • An excise duty rate of 20% is applied on the customs value of the vehicle.
