Important Information About Importing To Bahamas

  • IMPORT REGULATIONS The vehicles must be 2007 for the first year of registration and newer, the manufactured year does not matter.
  • NECESSARY DOCUMENTS • Bill of Lading (BL)
    • Export Certificate
    • Pro forma Invoice
    (Other documents might be included)
  • TRANSPORTATION Your vehicle can be shipped with relative ease directly to the ports of Freeport or Green Harbour or Nassau.
  • Road inspection testRoad inspection test would be performed by Inspection authority before brining vehicle on road.
Nassau Port In Bahamas

Appropriate documents to be produced at Ports

Once your car is arrived at the port, you need to submit following documents.


  • C-14 form for Nassau

  • C-13 form for Freeport

  • C-43 form for Declaration of Value

  • Jin Jidosha Japan Invoice received by you

  • Pay an additional 7.5% tax on imported

Customs Requirement at Bahamas

  • Car Price less than or equal to $10,000 in that case you will be charged a duty rate of 65%
  • Car Price between 10,001 to 40,000 in that case you will be charged a duty rate of 75%
  • Car priced over $40,000 have a duty rate of 85%
  • Hybrid/Electric Cars have a duty rate of 25%
  • 1% processing fee is applicable on all used vehicles
  • VAT of 7.5% is applicable on all used vehicles
  • Environmental Levy Fee of $200 is applicable on all used vehicles

Note: All the above rates will be applied on the CIF value.
